Vietnamese Cassia| Overview

Vietnamese cassia is the strongest, richest, and sweetest cinnamon around. The vibrant flavor of Vietnamese cinnamon really shines through in traditional cinnamon recipes like gooey cinnamon rolls. It is so potent that it should be reduced by a third in most recipes, but it is perfect used at full strength in any recipe where cinnamon is the main, delicious flavor.

Vietnam exports over 4,000 MTs of cassia products each year. When compared to cassia from Indonesia and China, Vietnamese cassia is slightly more expensive, but it has a much higher quality and oil content inside.

Making the most of these above advantages, Viet Organic Agro established a factory in Yen Bai, the Vietnamese cinnamon kingdom. We process cinnamon barks at this factory and ship them to the Hai Phong port for export. Our most common cinnamon varieties are split cinnamon, whole cinnamon, stick cinnamon, broken cinnamon, and cinnamon powder.

Vietnamese Cassia Cultivation

Vietnamese Cinnamon trees are mostly grown from seedlings and root cuttings. These evergreen trees thrive in a variety of well-drained moist soils in hot tropical climates. They require full sunlight and regular watering to thrive.

These cinnamon trees are not harvested until they are between 15 and 20 years old. The trees are felled before the bark is harvested with small knives. The thick cinnamon bark near the tree’s base has a stronger flavor than the bark on the tree’s upper limbs.
