Desiccated Coconut’s Health Benefits
Desiccated coconut of Viet Organic Agro is a wonderful source of nutritional fiber and is high in healthful saturated fats with no cholesterol. Lauric acid, a medium chain fatty acid derived from coconut fat, has antiviral, antibacterial, and antiprotozoal properties. Another fatty acid present in desiccated coconuts such as capric acid, has antibacterial effects. These fatty acids are found in the largest amounts only in traditional lauric fats, especially from desiccated coconut. Furthermore, recently published research has shown that natural coconut fat in the diet leads to a normalization of body lipids, protects the liver from alcohol damage, and improves the body’s immune system.

Desiccated Coconut brings impressive health benefits
- It’s packed dietary fibre for weight loss. Dietary fibre is indigestible plant material, and so, is never properly digested by the body. When it mixes with fluid and passes through your stomach and intestines, fibre turns into a gel-like substance which sticks to the stomach lining.
- Its high iron content can help to prevent anemia. Coconuts may not come to mind when thinking of iron-rich foods, but they are a surprisingly good source of it. To avoid anemia, eat a well-balanced diet high in iron and strive to meet your RDI (Recommended Daily Intake). If you’re short on time, adding desiccated coconut to food or drink is a quick and easy way to boost your intake.
- It’s a fantastic osteoporosis and arthritis preventative. The fatty acids in desiccated coconut have been proven to help strengthen the bones and prevent the degradation of bones. Indeed, desiccated coconut is now routinely used as a treatment for those suffering from the condition!
- It’s a rich source of several minerals that aren’t always easy to consume. Desiccated coconut is rich in both manganese and copper, which aren’t commonly found in high quantities in foods. Manganese is vital for bone health and also been proven to lower the risk of diabetes, as those with the disease tend to have lower levels of manganese in their system. Similarly, it can lower the risk of seizures, as individuals suffering from these conditions tend to have lower levels than usual in their brain.
