Natural and Organic: What are the differences?
Today, our goal was to help bring clarity and calm to the “natural,” and “organic”
Viet organic is trying to decipher the two distinctions so that when stocking up on your purchases, you have all the resources you need to make responsible and safe choices!
Organic
Organic is a legally defined concept used by the USDA to certify that food, beauty products and other agricultural products are processed in a very particular manner, primarily free of synthetic chemicals that are detrimental to the environment and humans.
So if we are talking about food, a restaurant, a beauty product, etc. that has certified organic ingredients, we use this term.
Ingredients that are organic, are grown in soil that hasn’t been treated with prohibited fertilizers and pesticides (muddy waters, but for different reasons)! Organically sourced ingredients should be (in theory) environmentally, socially and economically sustainable in their methods of production which all have a positive impact on the planet.
Natural
When we talk of “natural” beauty products, as opposed to those conjured up by scientific minds in a lab, we often apply to those composed of ingredients already present or generated in nature. A zone clear of chemicals with zero synthetic presence!
As compared to those conjured up by scientific minds in a laboratory, when we speak of “real” beauty products, we always refer to those composed of ingredients already present or produced in nature. With zero synthetic presence, a zone free of chemicals!
